The Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Rho Upsilon Lambda Chapter participated in the Sickle Cell Walk put on by Community Advancement Foundation (CAF) on September 26, 2022 from 7:15 am. – 12 pm. The event was put on to help raise money the Sickle Cell Association that uses the money to help those in need with medical, travel, and more. Brothers in attendance included Bro. Vernon Kearse, Brother Rico Leak, Brother Wiley Brooks, and Brother Darrin Wilson. The brothers sponsored a team of 5 who walked the trail. There was a blood drive and much more. The ambassador for the event was Senator Dexter Grimsley who helped with other senators to gain government funding for the foundation as well.
